    Satan Crushed Shortly

I am still amazed at how blind I was for so long. "You" and "your" are to be understood in their context. Even though the NT was written in Greek, our modern interpreters don't have to try to make it "Greek" for us. If the original writers meant "they", "those guys", or even "that race"...

    What Are Good Works ?

As much as I really love the old hymns, I don't think I'd ever heard that song, but I will look for it on YouTube. Thank you. Also, I really admire the "music ministers". It's a wonderful ministry. Update - I just found it. I listened to it TWICE, it was so beautiful.

    What Are Good Works ?

Jesus didn't go to the Cross because He had to, but because He wanted to. Can we do any less for those in need?

    What Are Good Works ?

It's truly amazing that our works are, simply put, to obey the Commandments.

    What Are Good Works ?

Amen, Brother. Jesus provided the example of the works He expects us to do - take care of "the least of these". The story of the Good Samaritan is one of my favorites because it is such a wonderful example of how we are to "go and do likewise".

    What Are Good Works ?

One can't help thinking of the age-old controversy of whether we are saved by our works; of whether James 2:14-26 contradicts what Paul says about being saved by faith. When James says "can that faith save him" (v. 14), he is being rhetorical. The Word of God cannot contradict itself, so James...

    Eschatology Agnostics

Thank you. That's the best answer I've seen. Do you think these will be similar?

    Eschatology Agnostics

While we do not agree with everything, you do present a good case. Since you know your history pretty well, I have a question. When did you learn about the Jewish War and the destruction of Jerusalem? I had never heard of these events until around 10 or 12 years ago. Do you think this...

    Eschatology Agnostics

Do you believe the other 10 tribes will eventually return to Israel? While I don't believe 1948 was prophecy fulfilled, I do believe God has never taken His hand off Israel. I've heard of amazing things that happened during the 6 Day War of 1967. Also, it's certainly no small thing that...

    Eschatology Agnostics

Here's a question that I've asked a couple of times, but still don't quite understand the answer. I think we can agree that when Christians die, they go straight to Heaven. So, when Jesus returns, do all the saints who have died and went to Heaven get a new physical body, or do only those who...

    Eschatology Agnostics

I didn't say that Israel was the largest sodomite nation in the world. My point is that Tel Aviv has a surprisingly large homosexual population. Again, why would God bless a nation that does not honor Him, since Israel is largely secular?

    Eschatology Agnostics

Managed to get a few minutes free, so I wanted to check back in. This still comes down to how you interpret the passage above. If the "futurist" nonsense turns out to be correct, I will eat humble pie. If the Partial Preterist view is correct, I will just have the satisfaction of knowing that...

    Eschatology Agnostics

Actually, I am a Partial Preterist. Why do you think Full Preterism is heretical? The Full Preterists that I know bow their knee to the same Jesus that I do. I gotta run, so I hope to catch you later.

    Eschatology Agnostics

Yes, in that I don't see the full preterist view as heretical. Just a matter of whether or not all prophecy has been fulfilled. Of course, I do agree with that view up to a point. This has been a great discussion, but I'm late getting back to work. In case I don't make it back later this...

    Eschatology Agnostics

Clearly we are not going to agree on this. Anyway, I need to get back to work. I might get a chance to get back later this afternoon. As always, it is interesting to discuss this with you. If I don't get back to you, here's wishing you a nice (and warm) weekend.

    Eschatology Agnostics

Actually, I do see the Second Coming in our future, but definitely not the Rapture. Obviously your views make sense to you, otherwise you wouldn't hold them. Same for me.

Ignore this post. I accidentally replied to this, and didn't know how to cancel it.

    Eschatology Agnostics

My eschatological viewpoint doesn't mean that I trust the Bible any more than your viewpoint means that you don't. How do you figure I'm "backed into a corner"? What summersaults does Preterism require? I really comes down to a matter of interpretation. I held the Dispensationalist...

    Eschatology Agnostics

Those parallel verses from the Olivet Discourse do not say that all life would end if He didn't return. In context, "no life" of the ones that were in danger. Just a few verses earlier, Jesus warned them to escape Jerusalem when things got bad.

What evidence do you have for the late date of Revelation's writing?
