    Christ's Return: Spiritual or Physical?

    That makes sense. Thank you.

    Christ's Return: Spiritual or Physical?

Hello, Brother. I agree with you the physical Second Advent is in our future, and the Scripture doesn't make it clear about the type of body He will have, except in power and glory. I also believe Christ "came" in judgment upon Jerusalem in AD 70. We could go on all day about the merits of...

    Christ's Return: Spiritual or Physical?

I didn't know about the different views you mentioned. I also think that the view Ed Stevens promotes is the correct one.

    Christ's Return: Spiritual or Physical?

Hi Tom. I haven't figured out how to add selected quotes instead of attaching an entire previous message, so I do apologize for that. You do present an interesting case - not only with me, but also with the Biblicist and others. I don't believe the Hebrews passage necessarily means that we...

How did you discover the Bible teaches a pre-trib rapture?

John, I apologize for interrupting your discussion with David, but I have a question if you don't mind. Could you elaborate a bit on what you teach regarding Dispensationalism? If it's not the same as Darby and Scofield taught, how is it different? I thought there was only one form of this...

    Christ's Return: Spiritual or Physical?

Hello, Brother Glen. I may be missing something here (wouldn't be the first time), but I'm not quite sure I understand what you are saying. You asked if our spirit goes back to God. I believe that is a reference to Ecc. 12:7. If that is the case, here is my argument. Solomon was not...

    Christ's Return: Spiritual or Physical?

I agree - the "blessed hope" is a great topic for another thread. Hope you get some good rest. It's hard to stay in a "forgiving" mood when the knuckleheads you are supposed to forgive have been keeping you up all night and you are just exhausted and very grumpy.

    Christ's Return: Spiritual or Physical?

As a Partial Preterist, I believe that a great deal of prophecy was fulfilled in AD 70 - but not all prophecy. I definitely agree that the 2nd Coming will be "the end of history as we know it". Based on Scripture, we agree regarding the physical resurrection of the saints as well. That...

I would agree with him on that point at least. Thank you.

    Christ's Return: Spiritual or Physical?

This is a very interesting thread, so I am going to spend my nickel's worth. Acts 1:9-11 has already been discussed, but I believe it's important to go over again. The disciples saw a physical body going up into the clouds. The angels told them that Jesus would return in the same manner. As I...

Herbert Armstrong's Worldwide Church of God...CULT!

Quite the testimony, Brother. My dad was pretty wrapped up in Armstrong's WWCOG for many years as well. His testimony for leaving the cult is similar to your own. I am very thankful that he gave his heart to Christ a few years before he passed away. Before your post, I had not given this...

I'm not familiar with Ladd. Could you elaborate?

How did you discover the Bible teaches a pre-trib rapture?

Not a silly view at all. I just take a different view. Anyway, I will leave this thread for the pre-trib folks. You have been most gracious. May God bless you and yours in all your endeavors.

How did you discover the Bible teaches a pre-trib rapture?

While I see your point, I think it's much more likely that He means "you" in the plural sense, but only to His original audience. All believers from Pentecost onward are immersed in the Holy Spirit. This is spoken in the singular, but applies to each believer. Same thing when Jesus told...

How did you discover the Bible teaches a pre-trib rapture?

Exactly. For many years, I didn't even know there were other views.

How did you discover the Bible teaches a pre-trib rapture?

A simple question with a complicated answer. I started questioning the "End Times / Rapture" view in the early 90s (just after I returned from the Gulf War). However, I wasn't sure what to make of those passages. I ran across Gary DeMar's teachings on YouTube, and they made sense to me. I...

How did you discover the Bible teaches a pre-trib rapture?

To begin with, I agree wholeheartedly with your last line. Live as if He may return any moment, as His return could truly be any time. No big surprise I'm sure, but I think the "futurist / dispensationalist" view is completely wrong. In Matthew 24, Jesus did not say there would be great...

How did you discover the Bible teaches a pre-trib rapture?

When I first became a Christian, I simply accepted the "pre-trib rapture as fact because that was what I was taught. My church taught this view, my friends believed it, and popular "prophecy experts" (e.g. Hal Lindsey) promoted it. It all seemed reasonable, so I held onto that view until about...

    Premillennium, Amillennium, Postmillennium

This was a great tribulation for the Christians in Jerusalem, not for the whole world. I don't believe there will ever be a worldwide "Great Tribulation". Unfortunately, I'm sure you agree that we will see far too many martyred until Christ does return.

    Premillennium, Amillennium, Postmillennium

True enough, but would you describe the killings of the past 100 years as "the Great Tribulation"? The tribulation that Jesus spoke of was of a specific time and place.
