    Marriage books

See, the thing is when we focus on our needs, we have a problem. I don't look at my marriage to fulfill things in me but instead, I want to see how we can glorify God and serve Him. When our eyes are focused on Him, our marriage will be in better shape than if we are focused on what WE want...

SIGH - Around and around we go. Yes - and when no one is listening, you are not preaching.

Doesn't Jesus direct us to make disciples? How can you possibly be making disciples if you have no idea if anyone has even read what you have given out? Evan - Are you afraid to sit down and have a social time with someone where you dialogue and show them the scriptures, answer their...

    Writing a letter

Yes, millions of tracts ship out each month but how many actually deliver the gospel to an actual person? As you've said, you've handed out thousands and yet in 8 years, have not had one person come to the Lord. The Gospel is much more effective than that.

I actually didn't. I'm speaking of communicating the gospel - listening to people ask their questions. See where they are. Know their needs. You can still do that with the deaf without speaking words because you are still communicating to them face to face.

    Were they priests and nuns?

So have you ministered to the deaf? I have. I worked today with two dear deaf men - one of whom is one of our pastors. None of them hand out tracts to the deaf either. They go to them, sit with them, talk with them and love them. The deaf are one of the most unreached people group in the world.

I don't understand. It was run by Franciscan brothers and the sisters that I mentioned. How does that not qualify for your consideration as being what they were?

I just looked it up on their site: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/acts-of-faith/wp/2017/01/09/married-lesbian-couple-to-lead-prominent-d-c-baptist-church/?utm_term=.3f36f8b8b895 “We look for the best people in the world and that’s who they were,” said Carol Blythe. “We’re very excited.”...

    Witnessing to Catholics

They were not Catholic? I don't understand what you are saying. They taught the doctrine of the Catholic church as did the church I was baptized in and received my first communion in.

My high school was Franciscan with Ursuline and Sisters of St. Joseph nuns.

    Writing a letter

Preach. Not write a letter. Not send a tract. The same word used in this verse is used in some of these other verses as well: Matthew 3:1 "In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea," Matthew 4:17 "From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent...

    Witnessing to Catholics

They actually don't. They do some forms of charity and do good work in fighting for the lives of the unborn but that is not the gospel. Their gospel has taken the true gospel of Jesus Christ and added to it, making it not what it is supposed to be. It actually involves quite a bit of heresy -...

I wish I could help you Evan but I just don't agree that this is something that should be done. I don't see how this could be effective and change a heart. God needs to do that and most of the time He does it through a relationship. I suggest you read "Confessions of an Unlikely Convert" to...

    Witnessing to Catholics

Nope. She never understood God's love - just His judgment. She knew she was a sinner and was repentant but never got the idea that God loved her and sent His Son to die for her salvation. She went to communion. She went to confession regularly. She did all that she had to do but still never...

    Witnessing to Catholics

My mom was a diehard Irish Catholic and knew all about the law. Someone coming her to her to tell her that her church's doctrine was wrong wouldn't have done anything because she was taught that it was truth and that's it. Do you know what brought her to the Lord? His love. The fact that He...

    Streep: An elitist hypocrite?

Don't get me wrong - I don't think that a man who was running for the President of the United States should mock anyone but to say that he did it to make fun of a handicap is wrong. He just does it to make fun of anyone - which again, is not becoming of any grown-up or even a child, IMO.

    Streep: An elitist hypocrite?

Note the same movements attributed to Ted Cruz - who is NOT handicapped.

    It actually isn't.

    Streep: An elitist hypocrite?

And he didn't. If you look at videos that are available online, this reporter does not have a spastic disability. Think more of Bob Dole who can't use his hand. That's all. And then if you look further, you will see he did the same movements while speaking about Ted Cruz who does not have a...
