    1 John 5:7,8

Do you have anyone reliable from the last 50 years who have seen the MSs data that has been gathered??? Otherwise, I don't care what these guys said. And I noticed that you don't have anything from the Council of Nicea where it would be relevant and helpful. Oh wait... why is that?

    Non-Cals prayer for Non-Believers

But what you are saying is full of holes. Do you pray for God to effectually draw people or ineffectually? If the first, that's Calvinistic. If the second, then why bother? As for a Cavlinistic prayer, we aren't praying to change God's plan so much as "making our requests known to God"...

    Non-Cals prayer for Non-Believers

I repeat since no one is actually addressing this issue that I'm raising. How a Calvie prays should be its own thread.

Do These beliefs take NT Wright Out From orthodoxy then?

While I concede that I do not know, based on the law of probability in how they exhibit his views, it is easy to level the accusation. It is quite obvious that many here who hate on Wright have not read much of him, only what others say about him. What I find childish is that you know we are...

    Non-Cals prayer for Non-Believers

If you look back, I provided Rom. 10:1. Is that twaddle? So do you pray for God to soften the heart? If so, do you pray hoping God softens the heart to the point where he knows it will bring about a change or a softening that does not lead to repentance? If the first, then isn't that...

    Non-Cals prayer for Non-Believers

Even though I think your understanding of "draw" is a bit flawed, I'll go with it. What causes God to draw someone all the way vs. someone who completely rejects? Certainly you are praying for the first and not hoping for the second. If the first, then why not just attribute the entire work...

Do These beliefs take NT Wright Out From orthodoxy then?

I have never seen it refuted... so... boom. It is a good argument. How can you claim to know someone's theology is bad if you've not read that person? You are trusting the claims of other people who themselves maybe trusting the claims of other people.

Maybe you need to underline hist statements that you think proves your claims.

Do These beliefs take NT Wright Out From orthodoxy then?

    1) I don't hold to the conservative or fundie view of inerrancy. 2) Not sure where he says this, but you can make a biblical case that baptism has a necessary function. For what exactly is the issue. But it is certainly necessary for an appeal to God (1 Pet 3) as well as associated with the...

You speak in such a way that I can never tell if you are sarcastic or serious. If you are not a Calvie, then just answer straight forward.

    Non-Cals prayer for Non-Believers

My morning reading prompted this question about prayer. Here is an excerpt that I read from Piper (can read here: http://www.desiringgod.org/sermons/my-prayer-to-god-is-that-they-might-be-saved): So let me apply his analogy to your request. If it is legitimate for God to order circumstances...

    Non-Cals prayer for Non-Believers

Thank you, Winman. Very helpful. Just to be sure I understand you correctly, you pray for 2 things: (1) God to initiate and cause certain circumstances that will lead to repentance & (2) God to be patient. #2 was what I was looking for, I hadn't though of that answer for you. Thanks...

    Non-Cals prayer for Non-Believers

Interesting... Paul certainly did (Rom. 10:1). But that is beside the point. I am still hoping to hear from a Non-Cal describe his/her method of prayer for the unsaved.

I dare you to do your own research on his book Surprised by Hope. Part of the confusion is what he means by "soul". I'd challenge you to figure out what 1st century Jews meant by it w/out mixing it with neo-platonic philosophy/theology. In short, he teaches in that book that it is misguided...

    Non-Cals prayer for Non-Believers

How do you pray for the lost? What exactly do you say/ask of God? This is curious to me. I may press your ideas, but I am truly inquisitive.
