The scriptural and contextual reading of Lydia's heart

You have a very very very limited view of what Calvin said brother. Calvin said a whole whack more than that. But that is beside the point. Did you get to the (early) part where I quote John Gill's commentary on the passage?

The scriptural and contextual reading of Lydia's heart

Provisionists believe those verses just as much as you do. I know what you believe as a Calvinist, I was one myself. We are trying to stick to the context without inserting anything external. I simply stated what the text does not say. Your appeal to 1John 4:6 and John 8:47 confirms that Acts...

The scriptural and contextual reading of Lydia's heart

Act 16:14 And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul. This is a classic case of resonance whereby we read something into the text because...

2 Thessalonians 2:13 What does it say?

Amo 5:18 Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light. Amo 5:19 As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him. Amo 5:20 Shall not...

2 Thessalonians 2:13 What does it say?

No. He literally tells you they are worried about "the day of Christ" and the reign of the antichrist; as many are today. I'm sorry but there is nothing controversial or remotely debatable about this to anyone that reads.

2 Thessalonians 2:13 What does it say?

the day of Christ brother, the day of the Lord, the terrible, terrible day of the Lord, not just some "period of persecution". And that salvation from the tribulation remains our comfort today.

2 Thessalonians 2:13 What does it say?

Actually it isn't, because the salvation Paul is speaking about, in context, is not salvation from hell, but salvation from the tribulation period. That's what the Thessalonians, who were already saved, were worried about. Please observe the emphasized portions: 2Th 2:1 Now we beseech you...

    Do Babies go to Heaven?

You're the one who threw in "righteousness" into the mix to build a strawman.

    Do Babies go to Heaven?

You're the one who thew in "merit" into the mix to build a strawman.

Jesus called "believe", and, therefore, "faith"", a "work".

i.e. "this is what God wants you to do". Just as Paul and Silas who answered the question "what must I do?" How about divesting terms from their theological pre-suppositions for a nano-second, yes?

The Sovereignty of God is Absolute

My God have mercy on him and you.

The Sovereignty of God is Absolute

Ok fine; so could you please list such quotes? You've already been doing it. Just need them together, focused on exhaustive determinism, and with the listed sources.

The Sovereignty of God is Absolute

It would be helpful, since you seem well read on the topic, to post a thread where you quote the greatest Calvinist writers stating that God determines all things, even moral evils.

Church Sign Message Has Low Opinion of Christ and High Opinion of Mankind

I understand the point, and tend to agree, but the sanctimonious nature of the condemnation is worse than the sign.

My Testimony of into and out of Calvinism

This is how I became convinced of Calvinism, and then became unconvinced. I understand the well-meaning reasons behind most Calvinists' "conversion", but 20 years later, I see I was wrong. By the way, I'm not Arminian either.

The preposition "of" in the sense of "to".

Thanks but that in no way addressed the very specific need of the OP. Please help with the OP.

I basically agree, but please help with the OP, thanks.
