    τελευταω occurs 12 times.

I am a little confused here. Why are you letting passages that do not contain τελευτάω dictate how you translate τελευτάω? Also, why would Mark 5:22 and Luke 8:41 allow you to translate the aorist tense as a present tense in other passages? I may not understand what you are trying to say here...

    33 A.D.

I am pretty sure the 14th was on Friday in both 30 and 33. That is why those are the two years we debate. The image is from Wayne Grudem Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk

    New President of the SBC

Mohler was not a distant 3rd. He was barely behind Litton in the first election. I believe it was like 200 votes out of nearly 16k Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk

    SBC Abortion Resolution

It was is good resolution. It had near majority support until an emotionally charged speech by the ERLC speaking against it. Even after that, it still passed. Despite attempts to keep it off the floor and to kill it by procedural tactics. Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk

    Matthew 28:14

They lost the body. The guards could face death for dereliction of duty. It was more about embarrassing the empire than it was about Jesus. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

Any here trying out the revised geneva Bible then?

I have a paper copy of the Tolle Lege 1599 Geneva. Not sure why it is currently available for purchase. Perhaps due to economic shut down in areas. You may try eBay. I looked on Amazon, but the cheapest is $550. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

    “As you go” or “Go”

Interesting. Looking back at it, do you feel that "ethnicity" is too localized for the verse? It could be taken as just all ethnic groups in the area. Would you still translate the phrase the same way? Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

    “As you go” or “Go”

Typical Merkle style. He trys to present the best of the opposing argument in a positive light. His style often reminds me of Grudem. He does also quote Wallace later..... “There is no good grammatical ground for giving the participle a mere temporal idea. To turn [πορευθέντες] into an...

    “As you go” or “Go”

Chapter 22 of Benjamin Merkle's "Exegextical Gems from Biblical Greek" deals with the issue. The chapter is a summary of an earlier essay he wrote. Instead of taking pics of the chapter....which might violate a copy write, I have decided to post his full essay, which he has made public for all...

    “As you go” or “Go”

If we are to take a "time" significance from the Aorist, it need only be that the "Go" must happen before making disciples. It no way demands the "go" has already begun.(In fact they are told not "go" yet until the Holy Spirit arrives in Acts 1:4) If it was present tense or imperfect, than "as...

    “As you go” or “Go”

Ben Merkle dedicates an entire chapter to this issue in his book on "exegetical gems". His conclusion is that πορευθέντες is to maintain imperative force ( though it is not an imperative) just like the vast majority of English translations have done. I am of the mind set that we may be giving...

    Silly translation.

I believe ἀδελφοί can certainly mean "siblings"/ "brothers and sisters" in certain contexts. But Peter's words ἄνδρες ἀδελφοί remove such possibility. Peter makes it clear he is speaking to only the men by adding ἄνδρες before ἀδελφοί. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

    Corrupted text?

"Ρῆμα has two fundamental meanings: word and thing. It thus corresponds to Heb. dābār," (EDNT) "...after the Hebrew an event that can be spoken about, thing, object, matter, event" (BDAG). Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
