Why Calvinism preaches a fraudulent gospel to some of the lost.

Human faith, the kind you buy used cars with cannot discern Christ, but only an imaginary idol bearing His name. It cannot save. This is Roman Catholic faith for example. And any system that must meet conditions before salvation takes place. = Works = legalism. You must be born-again (saved)...

Why Calvinism preaches a fraudulent gospel to some of the lost.

You have it exactly backward. Faith is a fruit of the Holy Spirit you must already have before you can believe in the bible sense.

    Being saved.

It appears that you trust in your decision rather than in Christ. The truth is, Jesus, says whoever believes has eternal life. This means you were saved before you made your decision or you would not have believed enough to make it. But the version of the gospel you heard made you, not Christ...

Why Calvinism preaches a fraudulent gospel to some of the lost.

Hint, you were saved as a believer before you did this, or you would have declined.

Why Calvinism preaches a fraudulent gospel to some of the lost.

“How much more severe a punishment do you suppose he deserves, who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded the blood of the covenant that sanctified him to be a common thing, [meant for all] and has insulted the Spirit of grace?” Hebrews 10:29 (MEV)

Why Calvinism preaches a fraudulent gospel to some of the lost.

“Although Jesus had performed so many miraculous signs before them, they still refused to believe in him, so that the word of Isaiah the prophet would be fulfilled. He said, “Lord, who has believed our message, and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”For this reason they could not...

Why Calvinism preaches a fraudulent gospel to some of the lost.

In his High Priestly Prayer, Jesus did not pray for the salvation of all. He told the Father “I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours.” John 17:9 (ESV). Why would Jesus die for any he was unwilling to pray for?

Why Calvinism preaches a fraudulent gospel to some of the lost.

What we have is a straw man misrepresentation of the gospel being attacked by someone who does not understand the true gospel. To preach the gospel means to "announce it" to all. Those who are born again will respond through baptism and repentance. It would be dishonest to "offer" salvation...

Why Calvinism preaches a fraudulent gospel to some of the lost.

After giving it some thought, your entire rant is based on a misunderstanding of the gospel. In essence, you believe faith merits salvation. But scripture teaches that salvation produces faith. That is, God must save you before you can have faith and this is consistent with limited atonement.

Why Calvinism preaches a fraudulent gospel to some of the lost.

You view the gospel as an "offer". But the word Preach in Greek means to announce. So it is not insincere unless you are an Arminian or an Amyaldrian, in which case, you do not have the original, but a man-made "knock-off" of the gospel based on "free will". The same free will the Reformers...

    ... And thine house?

It's not just about going forward but about making decisions to "accept Christ". They in essence think they saved themselves by doing this. Are they saved by trusting in their decision instead of Christ? Christ says whoever believes is saved. You must be saved, that is, you must believe in...

Why Calvinism preaches a fraudulent gospel to some of the lost.

It doesn't make sense if you think today's gospel is the same as the original. The gospel is simply an announcement that whoever believes has eternal life. It never was an offer for the self-righteous to save themselves Billy Graham style.

    Limited redeemed, not Limited redemption.

What separates the saved from the unsaved other than works?
  14. 1689Dave

    ... And thine house?

They were born again or they would not have considered "accepting the Lord". Jesus says whoever believes is saved. So Billy's converts were saved before they ever "went forward" but got into works salvation by "going forward" thinking they saved themselves by doing so.

2 Peter 2:1 Cannot be referring to a saved believer

Another approach to proving limited atonement. In Hebrews 6 the writer tells us that in order to save any who fall away Christ would need to be crucified all over again. This means his death paid only for the elect and was not sufficient to save all as many believe. Why would he pay for all and...

2 Peter 2:1 Cannot be referring to a saved believer

2 Peter 2:1, "also [like the false teachers of old] denying the master who bought them". This verse does not refute limited atonement but shows the similarities of the false teachers to those of old who "denied the Lord who bought them" from the house of bondage in Egypt. Examples of "bought"...

    Tradition or Scripture

Study the early church in Acts and the Epistles, and then try to find anything that resembles it in today's methods of worship. We are closer to Catholicism than to Christianity.

    Obstinate Learner

Do you actually think some people "deserve" to be saved? This isn't even Christianity in its most obscure form.
  19. 1689Dave

    Obstinate Learner

If you believe in Christ, He says you have eternal life. Eternal life is without beginning or end. It's not "once saved always saved", it's "always saved" in God's plan in contrast to "always lost". Those who fall away were "always lost" and never meant to be saved.
