    A poem I wrote

If Blake were a Calvinist....and, if I were a betting man, I would actually probably argue that he was (merely given the time of writing and prevalent Theology extant at that time and what-not)...Hey, I don't care. I liked your poem Luke ( and I am fully aware of where we disagree on some...

    A poem I wrote

Beautifully written poem....we obviously have some minor disagreements about the sum-total of all of God's designs with his creation of humanity and his gospel....but it was truly nice to read, worshipfull even....even though I don't necessarily accept all of the assummed premises in toto....It...

MMOTW, what makes the most perfect being of them all?

The "rear-ends" of donkeys don't "bray" Old Regular... They "bray" from their mouths....Reverse the donkey, and your crass insult will work.... Of course...Baalam's donkey once prophesied....:rolleyes:

A service for worship & nothing else?

But...Did you grasp the un-mitigated AMAZING-NESS of PETRA???? I cite here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVYTULb33kU Yes, I know....they are THAT GOOD...The key-boardist is this good earlier: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6xv1D9C4OI No...... Greg X. Volz was NOT singing "falsetto"...

A service for worship & nothing else?

I honestly think we may sum-up the discussion by including "Luke's" words here: This is to say that....those who are in defense of modern musical forms and some "freedom" or "laxity" or "stylistic defferrence" in music are absolutely NOT "WRONG"....yes...Drums and electric guitars are...

    Kingdom Rule

HMMMM............can't QUITE do it....Even though I am in 95% agreement with them. They speak a lot about this being only the result of the personal result of God being the one who individually governs the lives of a regenerate person....but, from what I read....they seem to speak a little too...

MMOTW, what makes the most perfect being of them all?

Is it just me....or did the Linguist just delineate the difference between two things....namely: 1.) the status of being 95% perfect 2.) being "perfect" as God in Heaven is perfect JoJ....personally....I don't think you can speak of something like 95% perfection...as a non-linguist, I have...

MMOTW, what makes the most perfect being of them all?

Not having been on this board as long as you have...I think you may be on to something..... If I am debating someone...and I then outright tell them that I have "trapped" them into self-contradiction...is it then not kinda lame to say something like: "Well...if your Philosophy taught you...

MMOTW, what makes the most perfect being of them all?

Gonna list some ingenuity by OR: (about why "Philosophy" doesn't matter) <<----stupid laugh emotes. Actually, no. Nothing follows from that singular premise whatsoever...no conclusion on earth may be deduced from only one single premise...an inferrence might be made... such as when someone...

MMOTW, what makes the most perfect being of them all?

NO....I am a "we" in the sense of being a Westerner....Hope that clears it up for you.

A service for worship & nothing else?

And I think you do well...but, I think that the Scriptures describe three types of sacred music..."Psalms", "Hymns", and "Spiritual Songs"...I actually think that they are three distinct forms of expression...and that we should focus on them much much more...I think the modern error is...

MMOTW, what makes the most perfect being of them all?

JoJ..........Philosophy is, I assume not for you. No, it is not the case that "Philosophical Foundations for a Christian Worldview"...(A brilliant introductory book about Philosophy and Theology) be-labours Confuscious, sir. The reason that book doesn't be-labour Confuscious, is...

A service for worship & nothing else?

I'll stick up for Luke here....While I don't think that there is a "Biblical Warrant" for devoting a "specific service" to "worship" every week (as a calendrical event per se.....I ostensibly agree. I don't think any gathering of the Church should intentionally exclude any of the other facets...

Dan 2:21- do you believe it?

We can agree on this, and yes, find comfort....I am going to assume that by mentioning Calvinism, you didn't specifically intend to necessarily exclude Arms and other non-Cals because I think we can all agree with this OP and indeed find comfort in God's will being done in all things.

MMOTW, what makes the most perfect being of them all?

I was not considering Greek Religion as "Uniquely" Western.......It was heavily influenced by the near East: Egypt, Persia, even possibly Judaism to some extent etc...I was referring more to the completely European people groups. Give me the credit of assuming I know at least enough about...

    Confusing worship and evangelism

I could not agree more whole-heartedly and completely and un-reservedly. It is a wonderful happenstance if via our worship or music God chooses to reach the heart of a sinner and "evangelization" occurs....but our audience is, and always will be an audience of ONE. If no "Evangelization" does...

    Kingdom Rule

AHA!!!!! Thanks for explaining the intent of your thread! It's a great question and discussion to have indeed! :wavey: (I'll have to look up the definitions of "theonomy guys" and "christian reconstruction guys") but, I would love to get back with you on this, and hear what you have learned...
