    is Roman catholism Regarded as a Cult/False Gospel/ Gospel + Works/True Gospel?

So, in the light of that, would you care to withdraw your allegation of falsehood against me made on the previous page?

    is Roman catholism Regarded as a Cult/False Gospel/ Gospel + Works/True Gospel?

I had plenty of experience of the Calvinism-Arminianism board here to demonstrate my point as alluded to in my last post. The only embarrassment here should be that of the protagonists on that erstwhile board who cheerfully flung anathemata at their fello-Christians in the service of defending...

Sir, thou dost protest too much! I've seen Calvinists damn Arminians and vice versa on these very boards! That's why the Calvinism-Arminianism board had to be closed down. hOw on earth do you have the gall to say that they don't have contraidctory opinions on salvation, when menbers of one group...

    is Roman catholism Regarded as a Cult/False Gospel/ Gospel + Works/True Gospel?

Indeed; I take your point re the Arminians but I have noticed this tendency (towards Pelagius) increasingly in Arminian circles particularly among charismatics and Pentecostals (the most extreme example being of course stuff like Word of Faith).

    is Roman catholism Regarded as a Cult/False Gospel/ Gospel + Works/True Gospel?

If that is the case, how come there are so many variant and contradictory interpretations This is oft-cited as some kind of 'proof text' for sola Scriptura. It isn't; the 'Scriptures' the Bereans had were just the OT. Catholics would say that they do. All fine and dandy but there's no 'alone'...

    is Roman catholism Regarded as a Cult/False Gospel/ Gospel + Works/True Gospel?

I claim nothing save the blood of Jesus Christ. He on the other hand, claims me. Assuming the same is true of you, I therefore have the utmost confidence in my statement.

Got that, loud and clear. Unfortunately for you, we're going to be spending eternity together.

    is Roman catholism Regarded as a Cult/False Gospel/ Gospel + Works/True Gospel?

Not in our original doctrinal template; in that regard I would direct you to Scripture, the ECFs, the Ecumenical Councils, The 39 Articles and Cranmer's Homilies. Now, putting to one side the ECFs and the emphasis in the 39 Arts on episcopacy, I would challenge you to find fault with any of...

    is Roman catholism Regarded as a Cult/False Gospel/ Gospel + Works/True Gospel?

OK, there's quite a bit to unpack in your post here. Not a greater but a parallel authority which supplements and (for them) accurately interprets the Bible. Do you see the difference? There's also the issue of 'the Bible as final authority' - I have no quibble with that in theory subject to...

    is Roman catholism Regarded as a Cult/False Gospel/ Gospel + Works/True Gospel?

I would also like to see how the term 'Bible-believing Christian' is defined here; every Christian I have known believes the Bible to be the inspired Word of God yet many would disagree with the likes of DHK. In what way then, is the 'Bible-believing' adjectival phrase relevant to the...

In what way is calling someone a liar not ad hominem?

JDF has form for this kind of ad hominem nonsense.

    is Roman catholism Regarded as a Cult/False Gospel/ Gospel + Works/True Gospel?

Not so in the beginning at least: to the Early Church Fathers, Tradition explained and correctly interpreted Scripture. We could do with some of their wisdom today, to counteract the plethora of contradictory interpretations we see today, even on this thread, under the guise of so-called 'soul...

    is Roman catholism Regarded as a Cult/False Gospel/ Gospel + Works/True Gospel?

Actually, that's not quite correct. Contraception is not regarded as a mortal sin and, in any event, the catechism says that in all instances the individual's conscience takes precedence.

I have to say that does seem bizarre; whatever happened to that renowned Amreican free market capitalism?

You're perfectly able to keep you medical insurance in the UK.

    is Roman catholism Regarded as a Cult/False Gospel/ Gospel + Works/True Gospel?

One of the characteristics of a cult is that its members do not have freedom of conscience ie they are not free to disagree with their leadership. That certainly does not characterise the RCs I know (some of whom are even priests), who freely disagree with many of the pronouncements of the...

Oi! What about the Orthodox?! Anyway, it's more accurate to say they believe in faith + sacraments rather than faith + works

Socialized Medicine Director Dies Waiting for Operation

The anti-NHS posters here are missing the elephant in the drawing-room here: there was nothing to have stopped the woman concerned from having private health insurance to pay for the operation just as you do in the US or indeed to pay for the op herself if she had the money (which she probably...
