    Question about Covenant Theology

Why do you believe that those who follow Covenant Theology claim that the Church has replaced Israel? Is this something you've heard, or do you have an official source you can point to that supports this "replacement theology" view?

    Best Daniel Commentary?

The Seventy Weeks and the Great Tribulation by Philip Mauro, written in 1921. Well-written commentary that supports the Partial Preterist view of eschatology. I'm reading it through for the second time, as it's very deep.

Poll: If the 2nd A was constitutionally repealed…….

I really appreciate how you are so civil in our disagreement. You never let disagreements turn into arguments. You are right, the topic of this thread is the hypothetical repeal of the 2nd Amendment, and I apologize for getting off topic. To be completely honest, I would not comply with any...

Poll: If the 2nd A was constitutionally repealed…….

In responding to several other posts, I accidentally overlooked sending you a reply. I do apologize. "Taxation Without Representation" is the grievance that gets the most attention in the list of reasons for the Revolution. Imposing taxes without the consent of the colonists was the 17th...

Poll: If the 2nd A was constitutionally repealed…….

The colonists supported God’s institution of government , and they believed that their actions against a specific oppressive regime were not a violation of the general principle of Romans 13:1-7. They were not so much "anti-government" as they were against tyranny. They pointed out that it was...

Poll: If the 2nd A was constitutionally repealed…….

The Declaration of Independence makes the case for itself. King George III was breaking God's law just as surely as Pharaoh broke God's law with his treatment of the Israelites.

Poll: If the 2nd A was constitutionally repealed…….

While I generally agree with your view on most topics, I must respectfully disagree. No new argument, though. I believe this was more of a resistance which turned into a revolution after all peaceful efforts had failed.

    Is this worse than cremation?

A little weird, but I don't see any problem with it. Once we are dead, what difference does it make whether our remains are buried, cremated, or whatever? As far as I'm concerned, however my loved ones wish to dispose of my remains is entirely up to them. Funerals are for those we leave...

Poll: If the 2nd A was constitutionally repealed…….

Romans 13 does not teach that we are to strictly obey all government laws. Daniel, the Hebrew Midwives, and others practiced civil disobedience. Acts 4:19-20 tells us that we are to disobey man's laws when they contradict God. Our founding fathers believed Scripture gave them the right to...

    Controlling my Tongue

I can relate. Years ago, I had a terrible problem with cussing. A friend chided me "you kiss your mama with that mouth"? Terribly convicted, I turned this over to the Lord. James 3:8 tells us that it "no human being can tame the tongue". Controlling what we say is much different from...

Poll: If the 2nd A was constitutionally repealed…….

I must respectfully disagree. According to David Barton and other historians, the majority of our founding fathers were devout followers of Christ Jesus. Do you believe they made the wrong decision in their rebellion against the British Empire?

Poll: If the 2nd A was constitutionally repealed…….

I get your point regarding the priority of Scripture over man-made laws and our own opinions. On the other hand, we agree that man's laws often conflict with Scripture - e.g. legalized abortion or slavery. I've often pondered over what when through the minds of our nation's forefathers when...

Poll: If the 2nd A was constitutionally repealed…….

That really is quite a stretch of a hypothetical situation. It could never happen unless the liberals did some sort of illegal manipulation. The Romans 13 argument doesn't make a difference to me, because the Supreme Court declared abortion to be the law of the land - even though it has no...

The popular TV Video series "The Chosen".....

Thank you. I am looking forward to what you have discovered regarding Masonic background influences of "the Chosen". Contrary to your view, I believe many "faith based" movies have been inspired by the Holy Spirit. Earlier I mentioned the film series from the Kendrick Brothers / Sherwood...

The popular TV Video series "The Chosen".....

Your research has revealed a lot that I did not know, and I truly appreciate that. It's not really surprising about how the show portrayed Mary as having that kind of influence over Jesus. For such poetic license, one should be discerning, just as they should be discerning when they watch...

Gov Abbott pulls out of meeting

I disagree, of course. In any case, the alternative of Beto O'Rourke is unthinkable. Whatever you think of him, Abbott is the best option Texas has for governor right now.

Gov Abbott pulls out of meeting

Gov Abbott went where he was needed, to Uvalde. He is a strong supporter of Trump. Yes, our law enforcement has blood on their hands, but you can't put that on Abbott.

The popular TV Video series "The Chosen".....

Thank you, Brother. I find some comfort in that, especially considering that many friends and family members enjoy it. I remain reserved but less concerned.

Gov Abbott pulls out of meeting

I think that Gov Abbott pulled out because he was dealing with the crisis at hand. Contrary to the opinion of some, he has always been a strong conservative. The fact that Abbott will still attend via video demonstrates that he is not afraid of political backlash.

The popular TV Video series "The Chosen".....

I have no problem with reaching out to people in other Christian denominations. However, I have no respect for the pope. I even have some Catholic friends & family members who can't stand this pope. Can't help but notice the absence of Protestants in the consultants.
